Position description The University of California San Diego,
Department of Ophthalmology (https://oph.ucsd.edu/), is committed
to academic excellence within its faculty, staff, and student body
seeks to recruit project scientist(s) wishing to join an
established team of vision scientists using artificial intelligence
to detect ophthalmologic diseases and interested in pursuing grant
funding. The position provides opportunities to use extensive
databases of clinical and demographic data and retinal imaging for
artificial intelligence applications in ophthalmology. The selected
candidates will be responsible for performing studies and will
provide onsite teaching and mentoring of students and staff. In
addition, the selected candidates will draft manuscripts, prepare
presentations, present at conferences and participate in grant
writing. Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project
Scientist level will be based on the candidate's background and

Ophthalmology or other health-related fields. Preferred
qualifications Candidates with experience using artificial
intelligence in ophthalmic research related to Glaucoma detection,
Progression, Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography, Fundus and
