Network Security Consultant

Job Description:

We have an immediate need for a long-term contract with one of our large public sector clients in Southern California. Our client is in need of a Network Security Consultant to provide support for the data center network and server environment that includes migrations of both physical and virtual servers running Windows Server 2003 - 2008 Operating Systems (O/S) to Windows Server 2016 - 2019 O/S, network management, configuration and upgrades for Cisco switches. SKILLS, RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIESThe Consultant shall be primarily responsible for the remediation of security risks uncovered from the Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) assessment conducted by AT&T Cybersecurity Team.

  • Configure, implement, upgrade, and maintain the Cisco Catalyst and Nexus series switches.
  • Troubleshoot the Cisco network systems when needed.
  • Conduct firmware and software upgrades to maintain the Cisco network systems.
  • Migrate legacy physical and virtual servers to a private cloud environment.
  • Network Analyzer, Stealth Watch, Cisco Prime, ExtraHop, OneDrive, SharePoint and Active Directory skills
  • Configure firewall security settings and maintain ACLs.
  • Provide consultation and configuration support to internal and external customers with the data center network equipment.
  • Project management skills to help coordinate with various teams within the department to get projects completed
  • Provide cross training to the technical team.
  • Provide documentation of the data center network and provide a runbook (where needed).
  • Work on remediation of security risks outlined in the GRC.The Consultant will work with the following equipment that is in the client's environment:
    • Nexus 7K and 9K switches
    • 4510 Cisco switches
    • Aruba switches
    • Linux
    • Cisco
    • HP for servers - C7000s (3-8)
    • HPE EVA 8400, 5X8100
    • NetApp (EOC)
    • Azure, AWS
      • Current/valid CCNP certification. Proof must be provided.
      • Three (3) years' experience within the last five (5) years as a network administrator using Cisco network equipment for enterprise environments. Network experience includes creating/modifying VLANs, Access Control Lists, SPAN/monitor sessions, and individual interface configurations and supporting all of the following Cisco network equipment:
      • Cisco Nexus 9000, 7000, 5000, 2000 running NX-OS
      • Cisco Catalyst Switches
      • Cisco Routers
      • Three (3) years' experience within the last five (5) years conducting firmware/software upgrades and troubleshooting of Cisco solutions for enterprise environments.
      • Three (3) years' experience within the last four (4) years administering enterprise Windows environments.
      • Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years utilizing and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Spectrum, and ServiceNow Event Management to monitor overall network health and triage network alerts.
      • Three (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years of proficiency in scripting using Ansible and/or Python to automate tasks.
      • Three (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years using monitoring and analysis tools: Netflow Analyzer, Stealth Watch, and Cisco Prime.Preferred requirements:
        • Certified CCIE, CCSP, or CISSP certification, preferred.
        • Two (2) years of experience within the last six (6) years of implementing and ongoing administration of networks conforming to NIST 800-171 and/or NIST 800-53 Cybersecurity Frameworks.
        • Two (2) years of experience within the last six (6) years of experience in managing and administering various Secure Event Information Management SEIM software platforms.
        • Two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years installing, configuring, administering ration and troubleshooting of Carbon Black Security Software.
        • Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years managing projects and coordinating with infrastructure teams to successfully lead data center migration projects.
        • Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years working with Cloud Management and Services Platforms.
