Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Surgical Technician Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: Ongoing Shift: 8 hours, days, evenings, flexible, on call, rotating Employment Type: Per Diem Job description: Overview Per Diem Surgical Technician Facility: Coast Plaza Hospital Location: 13100 Studebaker Rd, Norwalk, CA 90650 Assignment Length: 12 weeks Shift Length: 8-hour shifts Employment Type: Per Diem Compensation Hourly Pay: $42.00 Overtime Pay: $63.00 Per Shift Pay: $336.00 Position Summary The Per Diem Surgical Technician supports surgical teams by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile fields, and assisting surgeons during procedures in a fast-paced hospital environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment Maintain sterile technique throughout surgical procedures Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs Perform surgical counts (sponges, sharps, instruments) Handle and label specimens appropriately Clean, turnover, and restock operating rooms Follow hospital policies, safety, and infection control standards Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program CST certification preferred BLS certification required Minimum 1–2 years of recent hospital OR experience Strong knowledge of sterile technique Ability to commit to 8-hour per diem shifts for 12 weeks Preferred Qualifications Experience with multiple surgical specialties Strong communication and teamwork skills Job Types: Contract, Per diem About Halcyon Nurse Staffing At Halcyon Nurse Staffing, we specialize in providing top-tier travel, Per diem, and Permanent staffing solutions nationwide.
