Assistant Professor in Economics



Salary range:
The posted UC system-wide salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 3 for the salary range at UCSB. A reasonable estimated full-time rate for this position at 100% time is $108,700-$228,700. "Off-scale salaries", i.e. a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

Position description

The Department of Economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in econometrics or behavioral economics (including experimental economics). Other specializations will not be considered. The ideal candidate will contribute teaching and mentoring excellence to serve our graduate program and our large and highly diverse undergraduate major. The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service as appropriate to the position. This is a full-time 100% appointment position with a proposed start date of July 1, 2025.






Qualifications


Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Applicants must have completed all requirements for a PhD or equivalent in Economics, or a related field, except the dissertation, at the time of application.



Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
Applicants must have their Ph.D. conferred by appointment start date. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025. Applicants must specialize in the fields of econometrics or behavioral economics (including experimental economics) to be eligible for consideration.
