Position description
Applications are invited for multiple Visiting Assistant Professor
positions for the academic year 2025-2026 (the number of positions
is contingent upon available funding). The positions are open to
applicants from all research areas in Pure and Applied Mathematics.
A PhD in Mathematics or PhD in Applied Mathematics is required by
the starting time of the appointment. Preference is given to
candidates with strong research synergy with existing programs. The
teaching load is two courses per quarter, for a total of six
quarterly courses per year. Each quarter is approximately 11 weeks.
In addition to teaching, the applicants will be responsible for
attending advanced seminars and working on research projects.
This is initially a one-year appointment and is renewable for up to
three years. If a decision for reappointment is made, it will be
based on an assessment of the candidate's demonstrated competence
in research, teaching and other assigned duties that may include
University and community service. Course evaluations and student
comments are considered. Other evidence of teaching excellence may
also be considered, if available.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
A PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field is required by the
starting date of the appointment in Fall 2025. The candidates must
possess demonstrated competence in research and teaching.
